The chairman senate committee on water resource, Sen. Abubakar Abdulaziz Yari says his committee will work closely to all agencies in ministry of water to ensure nigeria enjoyed affordable and clean water supply in the country.
Sen.Yari stated this on Thursday during the inaugurals meeting of the committee of water resource at the National Assembly Abuja.
According to sen. Yari, water is life, we will work had to attaining increased efficiency in revenue generation and budgetary expenditure by Government Agencies under the Oversight of his Committee.
He congratulated all the member of the committee to found worthy by their respective Constituents and the Senate Leadership to be elected into the 10th Senate and serve into the important Committee like water resource that is driving force to the life of Nigeria.
He highlighted the task ahead
before the Committee which he says are enormous in both actions and inactions that will contribute significantly to the success of Nigeria development these includes: Standardization and quality control,ensure Nigeria enjoy potable and affordable water supply,prompt approval for annual budget estimates.
According Sen.Yari,the committee beamed its search lights on the ministry and other agencies under committee.
The committee use the opportunity to appeal to the ministry and other agencies of the ministry to cooperate the committee to ensure Nigeria enjoyed clean and affordable water supply.
