The Senator representing Southern Senatorial district of Oyo State Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Ali has described the late Olu of Ibadan Oba leken Balogun as a detribalised Nigeria and symbol of unity.
Sen Sharafadeen stated this on Wednesday while speaking on his motion at the chamber over the death of Olu Ibadan Majesty, Oba Balogun, Alli Okunmade II,on the 11th of March 2024 after spent 42 years as Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Sen Sharafadeen says, Oluibadan death is lost to people of Oyo state and Nigeria in general which he said believed in th unity of Nigeria.
According to him, if all Nigeria will like late Olubadan who is also a former Senate,Nigeria will be a better place,he says Olubadan as an activist always ensure that all Nigeria have equal cheer in the national resources.
In motion at chamber before the interview,sen Sharafadeen says A mighty Iroko has fall Oba Balogun by joining the ancestors. H urged the Senate to name one the committee room in the Senate after Olubadan and also send a high power delegation on a condolence visit to the people and government of Oyo.
The motion was adopted by the Senate after put motion across by Senate president senator Goodwill Akpabio.
