Chief Temitope Fawehinmi a philanthropist who has contributed immensely to Nation building has been conferred with the traditional title of Gbajeniyi of Egbaland.
Chief Temitope has been defined more by her philanthropy than by her other contributions to the nation, though she is a nationalist, business mogul and employer of labour.
She built her philosophy around the desire to help those who are absolutely in need because of her belief that the true worth of a mother is measured not by her wealth but by the way she treated those who were absolutely in need.
It is probable that Chief Temitope Fawehinmi’s humble beginnings influenced her desire to support those in need. She has used her connections to touch the lives of several needy persons.
In 2024, she was bestowed with the prestigious Gbajeniyi of Egbaland by HRM Oba ( Dr) Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo CFR, Okunkenu IV, Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland in recognition of her service to humanity and the Nation.
High Chief Fawehinmi continues to empty the tears in the hearts of people, leaving space for joy, contentment, and peace.
Her generosity is especially noteworthy since it does not recognise ethnic, religious, or social status borders. Instead, it reaches out to everyone in need, bent on changing the narrative for good.
Philanthropy is one way to get praise. But Fawehinmi’s philosophy differs from the mainstream charity-for-points system. Her donations are usually done in passing, making one think that she just decided to throw away money.
