HSF DISCLOSSES REASON FOR STOPPAGE OF 8014 CIVIL SERVANTS SALARIES
Comfort Olayinka.
The head of the civil service Federation Dr. Folashade Yemi Esan (HSF)
In a meeting with the committee on Public Service Matters for the 2022/2023 budget proposal at the National Assembly Abuja has given reasons why the Commission has to put on hold 8014 civil service salaries in the country.
One of the reasons given by Dr Folashade was those involved were default of the IPPI verification exercise, she went further to say that the continue refusal of the affected civil servants to verify their IPPI despite a decade grace given to them to carry out the exercise made FG to stop there salaries.
She said FG has given those involved ample opportunity of over 10years to do the needful but their refusal to do so is frustrating FG’s efforts to effectively carry out the IPPI verification exercise for civil servants in the country.
According to her, the exercise which started 2015 was aimed at using IPPI to ascertain the actual civil servants on the government payroll, but lamented that despite the long period given to them as grace, they bluntly refused to comply to the directives.
Dr Folashade however declared that door is still open for the verification to enable them have the stoppage of their salaries rescind if they are willing.
Speaking on fake employment syndrome Dr Folashade says FG has taken steps to put an end to the menace stopping the salaries of those involved and refers to the ICPC for further action and prosecution,so as to serve as deterrent to those who indulge in shady deals.
When asked to throw more light on the controversial “Orosanya report” Dr Folashade said FG has set up a committee to look into the report and awaiting the committee’s recommendation for the appropriate Action.
