The Clerk to the National Assembly, Mr. Kamoru Ogunlana, Esq., has reaffirmed his commitment to advancing key legislative reforms, staff welfare, and infrastructure development.
During his inaugural meeting with top management officials, Ogunlana emphasized the importance of prioritizing staff welfare, recognizing its critical role in driving productivity.
Ogunlana’s initiatives are part of ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of the parliamentary bureaucracy. He vowed to build upon the infrastructural advancements initiated by his predecessor while addressing emerging security challenges within the Assembly.
The Clerk also commended the leadership for their exceptional contributions to maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of the National Assembly bureaucracy.
The National Assembly Service Act and the National Assembly Pension Board (Establishment) Bill are among the key legislative reforms Ogunlana aims to advance.
These reforms are expected to strengthen the parliamentary bureaucracy, ensuring it remains effective and efficient in serving the Nigerian people.
Ogunlana called for continued collaboration among stakeholders to achieve the institution’s goals. He noted that the National Assembly stands as the largest, busiest, and most dynamic parliament in Africa, emphasizing the need for collective commitment to progress and excellence.
“The future of our institution depends on our collective commitment to progress and excellence. Together, we must uphold the ideals of professionalism, accountability, and unwavering service to the Nigerian people,” Ogunlana emphasized.
His commitment to reforms, staff welfare, and infrastructure development is expected to have a positive impact on the National Assembly’s effectiveness in serving the nation.
