The Senator representing Bayelsa Central Senatorial District of Bayelsa state Senator Benson Friday has blamed the leadership of Peoples Democratic party (PDP) for inability to resolved the crisis in the party.
Speaking to journalists in his office at the National Assembly on Tuesday in Abuja, senator Benson said his new political movement is as a result of crisis within the Party which leadership failed to resolve.
“Since 1998,I ve been in the party been as a foundationing member of the party in the State,so coming up to defect was not just an easy decision to make because over the years,there has been reason for me to defect like others who have gone twice or three times but remained in the party because I was elected state House of Assembly,speaker and Senator under the party is an easy one but it is time for me to move”he said.
According to him”it is very painful that the party could not resolved the issue at the center divided house what can you do with so many court cases.”
Senator Benson applauded the leadership of his new party who received him to a new home,his political party tolerate one another for the interest of peace.
Reacting On the controversy surrounding recent remarks by the U.S. President Donald Trump about insecurity in Nigeria, Senator Benson says,president Trump’s comments reflectes the realities of hardship terrorism has brought to the country after previous administration failed to address the issue.
He said,every Nigerian know that Trump is saying the truth because many Nigerians have been killed that Nigeria needs international community to help address the issue.
He emphasized the current administration is tackling security challenges more decisively that with President Tinubu giving the military matching other and committed to ending terrorism and restoring peace.
On the economy, Send Benson admitted that while the macroeconomic indicators show improvement, ordinary Nigerians are still facing hardship but in time things will get better.
“The economy is growing, foreign investors are coming in, but the micro-economy is struggling. What will help is going back to the farm. The President has put his life on the line to revive the economy,” he said.
