The chairman house representative committee on customs and exercise, Hon Abejide Leke has cleared the air on the ongoing recruitment at the customs service.
Hon. Stated this in during the press briefing in Abuja.
According to him, the pressure being mounted on the members by constituents about the ongoing recruitment exercise is such of concern.
He said, the NCS current recruitment was sequel to some vacancies on the certain cartgories, adding that it was not a general recruitment.
He further stated that the 774 local government area in the country had been given four candidates each but other local did not got that four, so to balance the federal character, such local government is given opportunity.
Hon Abejide decried the level of treat and pressure being mounted on the members to lobby for slot on their behalf, stressing that the amount of pressure necessitated the press conference to correct the insinuation.
He urged Nigerians especially those interested in applying for NCS Job to find out which cadre exist in their local government area before applying.
According to him, bill currently before the house on the reform customs will take care of the issue of recruitment within the system.
