In commemoration of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day on October 1, 2024, the Unveiling and Rebranding Nigeria Initiative (URNI) hosted a novelty football match with City Gates Sport club in Abuja.
The match serves not only as a symbol of unity and love, also reflects commitment to promoting positive change and nation-building through sports symbolizing Nigeria’s rich heritage and journey towards a brighter future.
In his address Amb. Dele Momoh a member Board of patriot unveiling and Rebranding Nigeria initiative reiterated the match’s purpose, saying, “We’re bringing people together to celebrate Nigeria’s rich heritage and journey towards a brighter future.”
The President and founder flag foundation Dr. Chris Agiri highlighted the importance of community engagement, youth involvement, and teamwork—values that are at the core of URNI’s mission to rebrand Nigeria.
Brigadier Gen. David Shajaba, Chairman of the URNI’s Board of Trustees in his address urged Nigerians to embrace unity, sports, and culture, promoting harmony and tolerance.
While Dr. Akomolafe Adeboye, CGS President, stressed fostering collaboration and healthy competition to inspire patriotism and unity.
The football match featured certificate and award presentations, networking opportunities, and refreshments.
It also showcased sports as a unifying force, encouraging Nigerians to work together towards a more prosperous nation.
The Independence Day celebrations served as a reminder of Nigeria’s progress and its people’s resilience. As the nation moves forward, initiatives like URNI’s continue to promote unity, peace, and progress.
