The House committee on investigative hearing chaired by Hon Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade has mandated the National Space Research Department Agency (NASRDA) amongst others to appear unfailingly tomorrow, Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 3 p.m. The hearing was aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability in the appointment process.
An investigative hearing was held today to scrutinize the appointment of Director Generals at the National Space Research Department Agency (NASRDA) and the Raw Material Research and Development Council (RMRDC).
However, several key individuals failed to appear before the committee, including the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, the Director General of the Raw Material Research and Development Council (RMRDC), and the Secretary to the Government of Federation.
The failure of these officials to appear before the committee today has raised concerns and sparked questions about their commitment to accountability and transparency. The committee’s action demonstrates its determination to fulfill its oversight role and ensure that public officials are held accountable for their actions.
