Senator representing Çross River Central Senatorial District in the Senate, Senator Eteng Jonah Williams has expressed optimism over the lists send by president Tinubu, that Nigeria are expecting ministerial nominees to Nigeria economy around for the betterment of Nigeria.
Senator Eteng stated this on an Friday In an interview with journalists during the screening of second batch of the ministerial nominees, Senator
Eteng Jonah Williams said the nominees when confirmed will no doubt deliver base on the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians on growth and development.
“Yes I’m optimistic that the crop of people in the lists of ministerial nominees if confirmed will deliver base on the promises of this government,” Senator Eteng Williams said.
Responding to the question on why President Tinubu sent names of ministerial nominees without portfolio, he said the current law allows the president to either sent the ministerial nominees with or without portfolio.
“As you may be aware, the current law, allows Mr. President to send the ministerial nominees either with or without portfolio.
“We looked at their educational background and asked them questions regarding their field. If Mr President even sent their names with portfolios, he has the power to make changes even after their confirmation,’ Senator Williams said.
