The Northern Senators Forum (NSF) on Wednesday condemned the military coups in some west Africa sub-region.
The chairman of the Northern senators forum Sen.Abdul Ningi stated These on Tuesday why speaking to Journalists on the out come the meeting of the Forum in Abuja.
According to him,the coups in Niger Republic,mali and other west Africa countries is worrisome and totally unacceptable he said ”
In the communique, the forum has tasked President Bola Tinubu to restore electricity supply to Niger Republic in line with the Nigeria-Niger treaty mandate.
The group also charged the military junta in Niger to bring a transition timetable that will not last more than two (2) years period
They also urged the military junta in Niger Republic to allowed the relationship with the rest ECOWAS Countries to continue by setting free President Mohammed Sazoh and his immediate family to choose the country of his choice.
The Northern Senators Forum (NSF) condemns in strong terms the frequency military intervention in West African sub-region especially coup in Niger Republic and other west Africa countries in a recent time.
According to the group,It is important that Nigerien should not suffer because of the coup that took place just as we have seen in Gaza
They urge the President and Commander in Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, and the Chairman of ECOWAS, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu to as a matter of humanitarian gesture, restore electricity supply to Niger Republic in line with the Nigeria-Niger treaty mandate.
They therefore call the attention of Nigerien to remain peaceful and partners with other Africans brothers and above all, maintain the peace in their country.
