The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, has extended heartfelt Ramadan greetings to all Muslim journalists in the region, urging them to embody values of empathy, unity, and self-discipline throughout the sacred month.
Comrade Grace Ike, Chairman of the FCT Council, emphasized Ramadan as a time for deep spiritual reflection and an opportunity to renew one’s dedication to service, truth, and fairness in journalism.
She encouraged journalists to fill their hearts with gratitude for the blessings they receive and use their profession to serve their communities with integrity.
“Ramadan is a time to reflect on the importance of empathy, humility, and service, both in our personal lives and in our duty to inform the public with accuracy and fairness,” she said.
Ike also underscored the power of Ramadan in fostering solidarity and compassion, urging journalists to stay true to their responsibilities despite the challenges they may face.
The statement concluded with prayers for peace, prosperity, and continued blessings for Muslim faithful and their families, with hopes that the spirit of Ramadan would inspire wisdom, courage, and compassion across all sectors of society.
