The house committee on Rural Development has summoned the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security of Nigeria , Mr. Temitope Peter Fashedemi to appear Tuesday 21st May by 2pm or face the wrath of the committee.
Recall that this is the fourth time the permanent secretary has failed to appear before the committee,in respect of the investigation on Rural development of the Ministry in the country.
The Chairman of the committee Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun made this pronouncement During the committee meeting at the National Assembly complex Abuja,he further expressed the importance of having the permanent secretary appear to shed light on the status of the Rural Development project for the country, most especially how the project approved on Rural development is effective under the ministry and area of lack of performance.
This is following the Committee’s findings during oversight to the ministry where the permanent secretary was not available to the team of Honorable’s members of the committee,and the Permanent Secretary has since then not responded to the Committee’s call.
The committee adjourned the next sitting to the 21st of May, 2024 for the appearance of the permanent secretary.
