Senate Minority Leader and Senator representing Benue Southern Senatorial district Senator Abba Moro has asked President Bola Tinubu to save Nigerian democracy and stop the militarization of Elections in the Country.
Senator Moro condemned activities of Political actors especially the State governors in the recent bye election for using the military and Police to intimidate voters for selfish purpose.
According to Sen Moro, “President Tinubu has been the part of people that fight for democracy in Nigeria,if he allowes the governors to continue using the Military to intimidate voters the way it used in the last bye election, it means Nigeria Democracy is in danger” he said.
Sen Moro said,”Police that are used in the pulling unit during election are not armed but today even military with armed are at the pulling unit to intimidate voters which is dangerous to Nigeria democracy.”
Senator Moro stated this in Abuja while speaking to Journalist on national issue.
On the meeting of People Democratic Party PDP NEC meeting held recently,Sen Moro expressed happiness that the meeting had brought Peace to the party after some decision has been taken.
He said “PDP is only party that has taken decision of the zones that will produce president,as a results of that every member of the party are happy”. he said.
He called all Nigerians to support PDP as the only party who believe in democracy and rule of law.
On the recent political criss in Benue State,Sen. Moro describes it as very unfortunate that governor trying to intimidate the speaker because he refused to clear a Commissioner nominee who has a lot of petitions and was not cleared.
Sen Moro commended Benue House Assembly Speaker for not bowing to the pressure of the executive governor and he has shown the separation of power in democracy
