In a heartfelt tribute, Senator Abba Patrick Moro PhD, representing Benue South Senatorial District and serving as the Senate Minority Leader, mourns the passing of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja. The Senator expressed his deep sadness at the loss of the gallant officer who passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday.
Senator Moro praised the late COAS as a dedicated and courageous officer who served the nation with honor and distinction. He highlighted Gen. Lagbaja’s efforts in the fight against terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping during his time in office, commending his commitment to protecting the country’s territorial integrity.
As the nation continues to grieve the loss of the esteemed General, Senator Moro expressed his hope that the successor to Gen. Lagbaja would carry on his legacy and address the prevailing security challenges facing the country. He extended his condolences to the late officer’s wife, Mrs. Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja, his family, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Nigerian Army, urging them to take solace in the knowledge that Gen. Lagbaja’s contributions will be remembered.
