Deputy Senate President, sen.Barau Jibrin has commended president Bola Tinubu to signed into law north West Development Commission (NWDC).
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday, signed into law, a Bill for an Act to establish North West Development Commission, NWDC.
The Bill, which was sponsored by the Deputy Senate President, Sen.Barau Jibrin was passed by the Senate in February 2024
The Bill was subsequently concurred by the Upper Legislative Chamber in May 2024 and was transmitted to the President for ascent.
Reacting Tuesday night, the Deputy Senate, sen Barau expressed an extravagant gratitude to the President Tinubu, for signing the NWDC bill into law, thereby approving the creation of the commission.
According to Sen. Barau the Bill sought to establish a commission that will be charged with the responsibility to receive and manage fund from allocation of the federation account for the economy activities and rehabilitation of roads, houses and other infrastructure in the zone .
Sen Barau urged Nigeria to support the president Tinubu and be patient with him that he believes very soon Nigeria will see what the president is doing.
He thank the people of the North West and Nigeria in general for the Support given to him by ensuring this bill is passed.
He further said,the development will help to address various challenges confronting the zone.
