Former Governor of Kano State and National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has reaffirmed the strength, unity, and growing cohesion of the ruling party, declaring that it has evolved into a fully integrated political force.
Speaking to journalists at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja on Tuesday, Ganduje described the APC as no longer a loose coalition but a consolidated entity driven by shared values, discipline, and inclusiveness.
“We are not a mixture, we are now a compound,” he stated, emphasizing the party’s transformation into a unified platform capable of accommodating diverse political interests.
He expressed satisfaction with the level of harmony within the party, noting that recent political developments, including the influx of new members from other political parties, have further strengthened its internal stability.
Ganduje commended party leaders, elected officials, and stakeholders across all levels for their commitment to unity and integration, which he said has contributed significantly to the party’s resilience and growth.
He also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for fostering an enabling political environment that encourages cross-party collaboration and supports the seamless integration of new members into the APC.
“We thank Mr. President for providing an enabling environment for other political parties to see that APC has the climate of accommodating other members,” Ganduje said.
On internal party democracy, the former Kano State Governor highlighted the role of consensus-building in reducing tensions during party primaries and conventions.
He explained that consensus arrangements, followed by affirmation, help minimize disputes and promote party discipline.
“Consensus has two stages. After consensus comes affirmation. This process reduces friction and disagreements that may likely lead to anti-party activities,” he noted.
Ganduje further stressed that grassroots engagement and inclusion remain critical to the APC’s strategy as it continues to consolidate its base ahead of future electoral cycles.
His remarks come at a time of ongoing political realignments in Nigeria, with the APC positioning itself as a unifying platform for broad-based national participation.
