The Nigerian Senate has approved a supplementary budget of N98.5 billion for the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) following a detailed review of the Committee on FCT’s report.
Senator Osita Ngwu, who presented the report, emphasized the necessity of the funding to advance crucial infrastructure projects within the Federal Capital. The approval of this supplementary budget comes on the heels of the N1.2 trillion budget passed earlier in the year by the National Assembly.
Prior to the report’s consideration, Senator Ireti Kingibe raised concerns about her exclusion from the committee’s activities despite being a member. President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, acknowledged her grievances and advised her to address the issue through proper channels.
The approval of this significant budget allocation highlights the government’s commitment to enhancing development in the Federal Capital Territory and improving the overall quality of life for residents.
