Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot (gantry) price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, by N65, bringing it down from N890 to N825 per litre. This price change will take effect from 27th February 2025.
For buyers in Lagos, fuel at MRS outlets will now cost N860 per litre.
According to Dangote, this price adjustment aims to provide much-needed relief to Nigerians ahead of the forthcoming Ramadan season and to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery policy, which seeks to ease the financial burden on the public.
This marks the second petrol price cut in February 2025, following a previous N60 reduction earlier in the month. In December 2024, during the holiday period, the refinery also lowered the price of PMS by N70.50, from N970 to N899.50 per litre, as part of its efforts to alleviate the cost of living for Nigerians.
With this latest reduction, the refinery has outlined new prices for its products across various retail outlets. At MRS Holdings stations, petrol will be sold for N860 per litre in Lagos, N870 per litre in the South-West, N880 per litre in the North, and N890 per litre in the South-South and South-East regions. In AP (Ardova Petroleum) and Heyden stations, the price will be N865 per litre in Lagos, N875 per litre in the South-West, N885 per litre in the North, and N895 per litre in the South-South and South-East.
The refinery has assured the public of a steady supply of petroleum products, with sufficient reserves to meet domestic demand while also providing surplus for export, thereby contributing to the country’s foreign exchange earnings.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has called on marketers to support this initiative, ensuring that Nigerians are the primary beneficiaries of this price reduction.
