The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has announced the appointment of Sam Ifeanyi Hart, Esq. as his new Chief of Staff (CoS).
Hart, who takes over from Hon. Toby Okechukwu, will bring a wealth of experience from his background in public service, law, and leadership.
Before his appointment, Hart served as the Special Adviser to the Deputy Speaker on Public Affairs and was the Director-General of the Abia State Marketing and Quality Management Agency from 2019 to 2023.
His extensive experience also includes serving on the boards of several corporate and non-governmental organizations.
A seasoned professional with multiple academic qualifications, including a Master’s Degree in Environmental Law (LLM) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from Abia State University, Hart is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Law.
His diverse background and leadership training, including courses at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPPS) and the GOTNI Leadership Centre, positioned him well for his new role.
In his capacity as Chief of Staff, Hart will support the Deputy Speaker’s legislative initiatives and policy priorities, ensuring effective governance and the promotion of good policies.
The appointment is seen as a strategic step in reinforcing the Deputy Speaker’s commitment to leadership excellence and legislative impact.
Hart’s appointment is effective immediately.
