In a remarkable show of commitment to education and youth empowerment, the Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, Hon. Kabiru Amadu, fondly called Mai-Palace, has disbursed ₦39.4 million in scholarships to 449 students from the Gusau/Tsafe Federal Constituency studying in various tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
The gesture, carried out under the 2025 Mai-Palace Scholarship Scheme, marks the seventh edition of the lawmaker’s annual educational support initiative — a program that has over the years become a beacon of hope for students in Zamfara State.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Hon. Amadu reaffirmed his belief that “education remains the greatest investment for a prosperous and self-reliant society.”
“Education is the greatest gift we can offer our youth. It is the key to unlocking opportunities and ensuring a brighter future for our communities,” he emphasized.
Beneficiaries of the scholarship expressed profound gratitude to the lawmaker, pledging to uphold academic excellence and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Beyond scholarships, Hon. Amadu’s interventions in the education sector have been far-reaching. Recently, he completed the renovation of six classroom blocks at the Government Girls Day Secondary School, Gusau, and distributed educational materials to 50 public schools—comprising 30 secondary and 20 primary schools across Gusau and Tsafe LGAs.
Marking his second anniversary in office, the lawmaker also unveiled a comprehensive empowerment initiative targeting the education and transport sectors, aimed at creating opportunities for young people and strengthening local infrastructure.
Through consistent investment in education and human capital development, Hon. Kabiru Amadu continues to cement his reputation as one of Zamfara’s most visionary and people-centered representatives.
