The Inter-Tribal Youth Associations of Nigeria has applauded the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, for his tireless efforts in fostering unity and promoting national cohesion through legislation and disposition.

The group, representing various ethnic and cultural organisations across the country, made this known in a report on its one-year assessment of the 10th National Assembly.

In a statement signed by its leader, Dr. Jack Sunday Itodo, the youths said its conclusion was drawn from the opinion of over 50 lawmakers who unanimously described the Speaker as a detribalized Nigerian.

Itodo said Rt. Hon. Abbas’s unwavering commitment to nationalism and nation-building has been a beacon of hope and inspiration to every Nigerian.

Under his leadership, Itodo added that the House has become a symbol of unity and progress, where the voices of all citizens are heard and valued.

He further said that his penchant for unity is evident in the way he has conducted the affairs of the House, always seeking to build consensus and creating a sense of belonging among members, leading to a more harmonious and productive legislative environment.

“The Inter-Tribal Youth Associations of Nigeria applaud the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, for his unwavering commitment to nationalism and nation-building,” the statement said.

“His tireless efforts to promote unity, inclusivity, and progress in our dear nation are truly commendable. We appreciate his dedication to the Nigerian people and his role in fostering a sense of belonging and patriotism among citizens.

” We must acknowledge tireless efforts to bridge the gaps between our diverse communities, promote inclusivity, and foster a sense of belonging among all Nigerians are truly commendable.

“His dedication to the Nigerian people is evident in his selfless service, his passion for the common good, and his ability to bring people together towards a common purpose.

“We particularly appreciate Speaker Abbas’s efforts to promote national unity, his stance against divisive tendencies, and his commitment to the development and growth of our dear nation. His leadership has been a shining example of what it means to put the interests of the nation above personal or parochial interests.

“One of Speaker Abbas’s most significant achievements has been his ability to foster unity and inclusivity among lawmakers from diverse backgrounds. His leadership style, which emphasizes collaboration and consensus-building, has created a sense of belonging among members, leading to a more harmonious and productive legislative environment.

“Abbas’s achievements are a testament to his dedication, vision, and leadership acumen. As Nigeria continues to navigate the complexities of nation-building, the Speaker’s penchant for unity, inclusivity, and progress serves as a beacon of hope for a brighter future.

“His legacy will undoubtedly inspire future generations of leaders, cementing his place as one of Nigeria’s most effective and transformative Speakers. We, therefore, urge all Nigerians to join us in commending and supporting Speaker Abbas in his continued efforts to build a united, prosperous, and great Nigeria for all.”
