Senator Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi, representing Osun Central Senatorial District, has left a lasting mark in just 18 months since his inauguration, executing over 105 impactful constituency projects.

The lawmaker, in a recent interview at the National Assembly, revealed that his motivation for these remarkable achievements stems from a deep commitment to his family legacy.

Fadeyi, who has already made significant strides in improving local infrastructure, healthcare, and education, emphasized that his passion to serve the people of Osun Central comes from a desire to uphold the values passed down by his parents. “When you know where you are coming from, you will know what to do,” he stated, highlighting that his family’s legacy is his driving force.

“Your family is very key. And if one’s parents have put a kind of legacy down, then you want to spread the name. During my campaign, I could tell that whatever I called, people would say, ‘Oh, we accept you’.

“The motivation is from my family name. It’s very important because of what my father has done in the past, it worked for me. I could not afford to do less, I have to even do more. So that’s my driving force!

“You can do four years in a particular seat, and people will remember you for it for the next decade. So my name is my passion, and passion is what assist leaders to work better for their people.

Expressing his passion to help, Senator Fadeyi said, “I don’t like to see people cry by my side. I always want to help. I’ve seen that things are really hard now.

“If you go to my original street, a lot of things have changed. It’s shocking, people are saying how come Senator is doing reconstruction? It’s not possible! But for us, it’s possible, it’s visible, it’s doable. It’s about being committed to what you want to do for the people”.

Among the many accomplishments under his belt, Senator Fadeyi has facilitated the construction and rehabilitation of roads, the installation of solar-powered boreholes, and the establishment of new healthcare facilities in underserved communities. His notable energy initiatives include the installation of solar-powered streetlights and transformers, significantly improving access to electricity in rural areas.

A cornerstone of his agenda is education, exemplified by the renovation of schools and the creation of a N50 million annual bursary program, benefiting over 1,500 students. His commitment to local economic growth is reflected in his support for farmers and small businesses, through the distribution of farm equipment, fertilizers, and even the sponsorship of 20 constituents for advanced agricultural training in China.

Senator Fadeyi’s focus on delivering tangible results within a short period showcases his unwavering dedication to his people and the legacy he hopes to leave behind. His “Uncommon Scorecard” is already setting up a  high bar for leadership in Nigeria.
