Senate passes Federal University of information and communication Terminology,Ikare Akoko,Ondo state

Senate on Tuesday passed the bill for establishment of federal University of information and communication Terminology Ikare Akoko Ondo state.

Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District senator jide Ipinsagba, has expressed deep appreciation to the leadership of Senate and entire Senate for the passage of his bill.

Speaking to journalists in his office after the bill passed third reading in the Senate, Senator Ipinsagba described the development as a dream come true for the people of ondo state and the entire Nigeria .

According to him, the purpose of being in the National Assembly is good representation and better the life of your people , create jobs for Nigeria.

He said Just like any other day ,I feel good because whatever God has done, no man can push it aside. It is the Lord’s doing and it is marvellous in our eyes, especially for the people of Ikare-Akoko, Akoko land, and the entire Ondo North Senatorial District,” he said.

Senator Ipinsagba said , the journey to presidential assent will be difficult because we all no that under the current administration’s president is a pro educationist

He further said, president Bola Tinubu is passionate about education and is encouraging the creation of more specialized institutions. I believe the process will go through smoothly from the House of Representatives concurrence to final approval by the Executive,” he added.

On whether Ikare-Akoko has the necessary infrastructure to host the university, the lawmaker dismissed concerns, affirmed that the town has enough land and facilities to support the institution.

The Senator also highlighted the uniqueness of the proposed university, noting that it will be the first of its kind in the country and even across West Africa.

“This is not just another university; it is a specialized ICT institution that will add great value to Nigeria’s education and technology sectors,” he said.

He assured that the university will be accessible to all, regardless of social or economic background.

It’s not about the rich or the poor. The admission process will be fair and open to every Nigerian willing to acquire technological skills,” he noted.

Senator Ipinsagba hailed the Senate’s support for the bill and called on stakeholders in Ondo State to begin preparations for the take-off of the institution once the final approvals are granted.
