The Senate Deputy Chief Whip and Senator representing South East Senatorial District, of Ebonyi state Senator Onyeka Peter Nwaebonyi says , the bill South east Development Commission that passed the second reading at the Senate will speed development Eastern region of the Country.

Senator Nwaebonyi stated this in Abuja in an interview with news men in his Office.

According to him, the commission is aimed at addressing that lapses, he says recently, the South East is under heavy attacks of IPOB and other form of bandits as such that we have recorded a lot of losses, lost of lives and damage of properties hence the need to Reconstruct and Rebuild South East and i believe that Mr. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been a man who believes in one Nigeria will do justice by assenting to that bill when it’s eventually get to his table.

He further says, the South east development Commission is long overdue because of economy important and contributions of the region to national growth.

Senator Nwebonyi commended the sponsors of the bill as well as his colleagues in the Senate to set aside political and ethnic difference above the national interest by cooperating with South east and ensure the bill is passed.

On the bill foe Davi Umahi university of Medical Sciences which scare through the second reading, sen.Nwaebonyi said, he has been committed to the committee on Tertiary institution and they are working on it, the university before now as been in existence haven’t been established by the law Ebonyi State 2021 but following the visit of former President Mohammedu Buhari, who was moved by the over determination of the then governor of the state, Senator David Umahi, to develop the young state of Ebonyi, pronounced the taking over of that university, and I believe that was a very good step taking by the former President, to encourage the young state, and that university is one of the best university not just in Nigeria but in entire Africa, in terms of infrastructure, commitment of lecturers to work, medical equipment, and others, so it’s a welcome development and i believe in no time Mr. President will assent to the bill to give it a legal frame work to operate as one of the Federal University in Nigeria.

He said,if all part of the country should be given sense of belong, insecurity, unemployment and other crisis facing the country will be the things of the passed.

According to him,Ebonyi is actually backward educationally 20years back but I must tell you going by the effort made by our successful leaders, starting from Sam Egwu, that gave us free education, followed by Elechi and been amplifyed by the immediate past governor, Senator David Umahi, Ebonyi of yesterday is different from Ebonyi of today. The area of education we are above so many states, in the area of infrastructure Ebonyi is number two if not number one, courtesy of the leaders we had in the past. I must commend the sitting governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ognonayah Onu, who is follow the steps of his predecessors in terms infrastructure, social welfare of the people, ensuring quality education of Ebonyi children. I must tell you we in Ebonyi are blessed because we have always have good leaders who are committed and concerned about the development of Ebonyi and our people. .

Senator Nwaebonyi On the hardship facing the country,Sen.Nwebonyi beg Nigeria be patient with president Tinubu as he working very had with the support of the National Assembly to give Nigeria dividend of Democracy.

According to him, of the truth and as a leader, I must admit that things are not very easy but not only in Nigeria, it is all over the world, the economy globally is bad and we should not think is only in Nigeria he says,Nigerians will start seeing the effect of those economic policy of the president very in no distance time.

According to him, the security is everyone business because before any other things our life is very important, development can only go with safety environment, as a Senator no one will be happy when you are not secured and the primary objective of any government is security,he says Senate will not delay to recommended to the president if any service chief failed to perform but for now there are doing their best.

He urged Nigeria to cooperate with the president, service chief to ensure they make Nigeria a safe and secured environment.
