Reps calls IGP to remove all illegal checkpoints throughout Nigeria

Sunday Navember 28,2021, is the day the people of Ihala in Anambra state will not forget in hurry as the community lost over 20 lives to account that could have be avoided.

A member representing Ihala federal constituency of the state Hon.Ifeanyi momah lament the situation why motion the Wednesday plenary.

In adopting the motion, the house asked IGP Usman Baba Alikali as matter of urgency remove all illegal checkpoints across the country.

Also mandated the IGP to direct the commissioner of police in Anambra state to review the location of the check point in Ihala to forestalling further occurrence especially during the festive holiday.

Ihala is along ever busy Owerri —Onitsha express road, investigation review that for the past 2 years , military and police check point has been in operational to quell in security in South east.

According to Hon Momah, the menace has not speared one,as women, children and old ones are forced to alight from cars and raise their hands to pass through the check point and Walk for over 1km.

In an interview with press,Hon. Momah want the security check point in the entire state be review,he pointed out that the military check point especially Amorka community which is the border between Anambra and Imo state is not a right place because of commercial activities.

You may be recalled that on Saturday 30th of may 2020,a police makeshift road block caused a fatal accident at Ihala which led to the death of a trailer driver and his conductor as well as over 10bus passengers.

On Thursday 4th of November 2021, three vehicles was involved in an accident as a result of road block claims of (3) children and (6) adults.

The most recent one is that of Saturday 28th, November 2021 that claims the lives of over 20 people.

According to Stephen Spindler, hardworking, commitment duty is the Hallmark of success,Hon, Abudullahi Ibrahim Ali (Halims) has demonstrated the quality of such a great man because his quality leadership at national assembly.

Its as a result of this that students of Ankpa local government area of kogi state,under the auspice of Ankpa students association (ASA)Award him for his Humanitarian Services.

Honourable Halims a member representing Ankpa,Omala and Olamaboro federal constituency at the national assembly was respected by his colleagues for his leadership style.

A member of federal house of representative who is also a member of the committee of steel development urged kogite to beg honourable Halims to rescue the state,he discribes him as unequalled leader.

Recently, Honourable Halims during 2022 budget defence of ministry of mines and steel development under his jurisdiction asked the ministry as the matter of urgency complete the Ajaokuta steel and other steel development across the country to create employment opportunity for youth.

Hon. Halims has moved the motion as well as bills that will better the life of Nigerians specially youth’s.

Still on an award by Ankpa students, according to the students,they noted that the positive impact of Hon Abudullahi Ibrahim Ali Halims in their different communities,his contribution to educational development, human capacity building have help not only left youths in his constituency but any one that come across him no matter your tribes.

In his response, Hon Abudullahi Ibrahim Ali Halims described the award as a call for more services to his people and Nigeria as a whole.

According to him,he has turned down notable awards for many but i decided to accept this because is coming from my people who have see his contributions.

He urged the students to always be an ambassador of Igala any where they fine themselves.

The delegation are: The National Association of Nigerian students (NANS) zone C Director of sports, Comrade Ismaila Ibrahim, Chairman of the 2021Ankpa Day Celebrations at the kogi state University (PAAU),Comr Yusuf Yekina as well as Comrade Abdulalaziz shaibu.
