The Senate President,senator Godswill Akpabo has cleared the air on the fake news on social media about his health status.
He made the clarification in his office while addressing Journalists working in National Assembly on Friday.
According to him,it’s important to inform you of the true situation on the news going on on social media,what happened was just stress and a the little fever which is normal to every human he said
Senator Akpabio use the opportunity to thank all Journalists working in National Assembly for their cooperation since he assumed office as Senate president.
He said that,he will continue to always work for the progress of Nigeria and to ensure that the National Assembly under his leadership cooperate with Executive arm of government to deliver the renewed hope of agenda of Mr president.
He thank president Bola Tiunbu,first lady Oluremi Tiunbu and all Nigerians who traveled to Akwa Ibom state during his birthday.
According to him,National Assembly is working round the clock to ensure that the Budget is passed before the 31st of December 2023.
Responding,the chairman of National Assembly press crops,Mr James Itodo ,thank the Senate president and the entire management of National Assembly for giving a free hand to all the Journalists in the National Assembly to preform their constitutional duties.
He therefore assured the Senate president that all the Journalists working in the National Assembly will cooperate with him for the success of his administration.
It will be recalled that the social media was saturated with unsubstantiated news that Senate president Godswill Akpabio collapsed during his birthday celebration in Abuja.
