Women Federation for World Peace, an international NGO, Abuja Chapter In a press release by the National president, Ambassador Mrs Risa Smart,
expresses her immense concern on the recent uproar in the country, especially the agitation by the energetic youth and the reaction of the government at various levels and is appealing for peace.
She commended the desires of the citizens and the government for the realization of a better society and the fact that both the citizens and government are desirous of building a great nation where her citizens will be governed peacefully. But is greatly unsettled with the expression of this good intentions and therefore is appealing for a better and peaceful approach by both the citizens and her government towards the actualization of her goals.
“We are appealing for restraint on all sides. Young people should henceforth avoid situations that will escalate into more violence. Please avoid confrontation with armed security personnel. No one can deny the fact that your message is resonating all over the nation and the world. You have been heard loud and clear. And on the side of the government, we consider the reported reaction to be too extreme, and hereby appeal for restrain in the task of securing lives properties and ensure that no further lives of the citizens should be lost” she said.
“Rather than fighting persons we perceive to be our enemy of this issues, we are advocating that we all come together to fight our common enemy like corruption, anti-social behavior, etc. Let us all embrace dialogue and avoid what will divide us further as a nation. As citizens, our outermost desire is to attain happiness in life and we need to work together to avoid whatever we bring suffering to any citizen and resident of our nation. Let us all embrace peace. Let us strive to educate everyone on what we need to do. Let us create an environment for all to prosper as well as prepare our young people to become better leaders of our nation. Let us say no to violence” she added.
We hereby call on all women of our nation to come together and pray for resolution of the changes we are facing now. As women and mothers, we are the primary losers as all citizens where born by women” she further said
